Dashboards

One Screen That Tells You How the Business Is Doing

The numbers usually exist already - in the CRM, the accounting system, the ad platforms and three spreadsheets. What is missing is one place that pulls them together on a schedule and shows the handful that actually change a decision. I build that, and I keep it to the handful.

Key takeaways

  • A dashboard with thirty numbers gets ignored. Four that someone acts on beats thirty nobody reads.
  • Decide the refresh schedule per metric. Live is expensive and rarely what a weekly decision needs.
  • Every number should be traceable back to its source row, or nobody will trust it the first time it looks wrong.
  • A scheduled report that lands in your inbox usually beats a dashboard you have to remember to open.

What I build

  • Pulling data from your CRM, accounting, ad platforms and databases
  • A small set of metrics chosen because a decision depends on them
  • Scheduled email or WhatsApp reports, not just a screen
  • Drill-down from any number to the rows behind it
  • Role-based views so each person sees their own scope
  • Alerting when a metric crosses a threshold you set

Projects I built

How it works

  1. A short scoping call

What hurts today, what you already use, and what "done" looks like.

  2. A written fixed-price quote

Scope, price and timeline in writing, approved before any work starts.

  3. Built in stages, on your real data

You see a working first version early, not a demo at the end.

  4. Handover with documentation and monitoring

You own the code and the data, and a support window follows launch.

Working with me from the US or Europe

  • Most of my client work is for companies in the US, UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Australia.
  • Calls are in English and scheduled in your time zone. My working day covers most of the European one and the US East Coast morning.
  • A fixed price in US dollars, agreed in writing before any work starts.
  • Pay me directly, or hire me through Upwork if you prefer to work through a platform.
  • You own the code and the data, with documentation and a support window after launch.

Frequently asked questions

Why not Power BI or Looker Studio?

Often you should. They are excellent when your data already sits somewhere they can read and the questions are standard. Custom wins when the data needs real transformation first, when the source has no connector, or when the dashboard has to be part of a system your team is already inside.

How current will the numbers be?

Per metric, by choice. Live where it changes a same-day decision, hourly or nightly where it does not. Refreshing everything constantly costs money in API calls and rarely improves a single decision.

What if our data is messy?

It usually is, and that is most of the work. Inconsistent names, duplicate records and missing dates get cleaned in the pipeline rather than in the source, so the dashboard is honest without anyone having to fix history first.
