Israel Invoices: What Happens When an Allocation Number Is Rejected Mid-Workflow

An allocation-number request rejected in the middle of a workday should not make an employee bypass the system or print a document “for now.” The Israel Tax Authority provides an allocation-number request service and Israel Invoices services. A sound system distinguishes a saved transaction, a document ready for generation, a request sent, a number received, and a case requiring attention.

An exception path that does not freeze all sales

When the request is rejected or the service is unavailable, retain the transaction and the data used for the request together with the response code and action ID. Move the document to a clear state such as “awaiting allocation,” and prevent sending or subsequent action only where current rules require it.

The team needs an exception screen that answers four questions: is data missing, do authorization or connection need attention, is this temporary service failure, and who decides the customer-facing action? After correcting source data, submit a new request linked to the earlier event. Never manually edit a number onto a document.
