In optical products there is a difference between a frame in stock, lenses made to order, and a finished product awaiting collection. A serial number or barcode links the physical item to a movement, while a customer order includes specification, adjustments, and due date. Mixing them leads to wrong delivery or false stock availability.
Open an order with items, verified specification, production state, payment, and collection ID. A frame assigned to an order moves from available to reserved; change or cancellation releases it by rule. Handover requires matching order, physical item, and customer, not only checking collected.
An exceptions report shows orders without item, long-reserved items, and stock without movement. Clinical or personal data are retained separately with appropriate permissions.
