In a garage, vehicle record, work order, parts, and billing must link together. If a part leaves inventory without a job number, no one can tell whether it was sold, returned, or assigned to the wrong vehicle. A registration number alone is not a substitute for customer and job IDs.

Open a job with complaint description, mileage where relevant, planned actions, technician, parts, and quote. Every part withdrawal records quantity and location, and a return reverses or creates a counter-movement. A scope change opens customer approval before work according to garage policy.

The end-of-day report should show open jobs, missing parts, orders awaiting approval, and unclosed billings. It cuts searching and shows real workload without claiming regulatory compliance without professional review.
