AI Writes Code That Manages Money: Tests, Environment Separation, and Human Approval Before Production

AI-generated code can accelerate development, but charges, credits, documents, and payments require normal and stricter controls.

AI-generated code can accelerate development, but charges, credits, documents, and payments require normal and stricter controls. Do not move a code fragment straight to production because it looks plausible. Understand what it does, who reviews it, and what happens when an external service returns a timeout.

Separate a test environment with dummy data, retain secrets outside code, add unique operation IDs and logs, and define who may trigger a financial action. Tests include success, decline, repeated webhook, duplicate attempt, amount change, and mid-process disconnection. Check state at source before retry.

Code review, access testing, and ability to roll back or make controlled correction are part of delivery. AI does not own code or financial decisions, and a developer is not excused from review because text was generated quickly.
