Leads That Receive No Follow-Up: SLA, Ownership, and a Queue That Returns the Lead to Work

A lead entering a form, CRM, and a salesperson's email can remain untreated three times. The answer is not another alert but one owner.

A lead entering a form, CRM, and a salesperson's email can remain untreated three times. The answer is not another alert but one owner. Every lead receives an ID, source, entry time, state, responsible representative, and next-action date.

Define SLA by lead source or value, such as first-response time rather than “handle soon.” If there is no update by deadline, escalate to another person or return the lead to queue. A not-relevant status requires a fixed reason, separating an unsuitable lead from a sales attempt that never happened.

Review funnel performance by response time, not only lead count. A gap between representatives or one source can expose capacity, configuration, or data-quality problems. The goal is that every lead gets a recorded decision, even a decision not to proceed.
