A balance in the banking app is not necessarily available business cash. Unsettled instructions, card transactions, fees, cheques, and transfers in progress create a gap between ledger, bank, and forecast. Good reconciliation explains every gap rather than smoothing it into an other row.

Import movements with bank ID, value date, description, and amount. Match each movement to a document, internal transfer, fee, or exception with an owner. Do not delete already matched rows; change state with history. A Tuesday correction then cannot alter Monday close without a trace.

Review bank balance, outgoing payments, receipts not yet credited, and near-term obligations together. The result is an explainable cash forecast, not just a green tick.
